Bruckner's glorious choral music was performed in the hall where the composer played the organ in 1871. Then Solti returned to the Proms forà Beethoven's last symphony and its revolutionary choral finale. Solti declared the ninth to be "a masterpiece with an enormous, broadening horizon, where the history of music turned a page."
