Host of a controversial late-night radio show, David Staebler finds his programme suddenly interrupted. His older brother Jason begs him to leave Philadelphia and join him in Atlantic City, where Jason is hatching a wild plan to buy a holiday island off the coast of Hawaii. From then on the brothers - at the mercy of black racketeer Lewis - find themselves in a twilight world of suspicion and intrigue.
