The Best of 'Allo 'Allo!

on BBC One London

It is ten years since harassed cafe-owner Rene and his battle-axe wife Edith first appeared in David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd's comedy about the French Resistance. Since then the raincoated Resistance fighter Michelle has said "I shall say zis emly wernce" dozens of times.

This scrapbook of classic moments from the series is introduced by Rene and Edith (played by Gorden Kaye and Carmen Silvera) as they celebrate Edith's birthday and reminisce about their eventful war years. Among the clips are Rene's execution, the wedding of Mme Fanny and Leclerc and the time Captain Hans Geering concealed a priceless cuckoo clock about his person.
