This film, which won the Grand Prix International at the 1946 Cannes Film Festival, is the story of the French railways during the German occupation. It shows how, often at the cost of their own lives, the railwaymen of France sabotaged the Nazis' vital transport and held up the movement of troops and supplies to the invasion front.
