Designs of the Times: Public Property

on BBC Two England

Second of a six-part series looking at how noted architects can transform neglected and unfashionable areas.

In a rare interview, famous French designer Philippe Starck discusses his design for a wooden, self-assembly family home that incorporates all his ideals for the interior and exterior of a house. Available to buy from catalogues via mail-order, the building will, Starck hopes, transform the whole landscape of Europe.

(The Designs of the Times season continues with the BBC Design Awards tomorrow at 7.30pm)
