Jazz: Gumbo

The first of an acclaimed American documentary series by Ken Burns, showing in 12 parts, exploring the origins and development of jazz music.
Jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis introduces the series as he, fellow players and experts chart the genesis of jazz in New Orleans during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Tonight's jazz theme continues with Francis Coppola's film "The Cotton Club" at 12.20am.
The series continues on Monday at 11.20pm
