Design Awards. Tonight a unique opportunity to see expert judges at work as they select their short list of five. Chairman Kenneth Grange with Sir Terence Conran , Dinah Casson ,
Katharine Hamnett , Richard Seymour and Merrick Taylor argue over the merits of more than 400 different entries - from an aeroplane to a wheelchair, from fashion to a mechanical excavator. Will the new Jaguar XJ6 prove more successful than the cement mixer? And how can you judge between two such different things? The five winning entries and their designers are profiled.
