Round the Countryside
'The' Fight for Food'
C. C. GADDUM
Mr. Gaddum will talk about the various ways that animals have adopted to ensure that they and their young shall not starve for want of food. He will talk about animal territories. Some animals have their own food-hunting centres, which they guard with the utmost care, and woe betide any other animal of the same species that happens to trespass on their preserves. Finally he will talk about how easy it is to upset the balance of nature by killing animals, thus putting out of gear nature's delicate mechanism for regulating the food supply.
