Music by EMMERICH KALMAN
Libretto by L. STEIN and B. JENBACH Set in Budapest and Vienna during the closing period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this is the story of a beautiful cabaret star called Sylva Varescu. The operetta opens at her farewell concert in Budapest, where she has earned the nickname 'The Czardas Princess' in honour of her expertise in singing the fiery rhythms of the Hungarian Czardas dance.
