The Palazzo Te, Mantua's answer to the Brighton Pavilion, the Lombardy countryside and the Mirror Room of the Ducal Palace, where Monteverdi directed his regular Friday evening concerts, are the locations for performances of Italian madrigals by de Wert, Gastoldi and Monteverdi, as well as a game of cards set to music by Striggio.
