Sunday Feature: Hemingway's Last Safari

on BBC Radio 3

July sees the centenary of Ernest Hemingway 's birth and the publication of his final unfinished novel, based on his last safari in Africa. Malcolm Bradbury, David Lodge , Elaine Showalter and Bill Buford look at this complex and colourful man. Christopher Bigsby visits Hemingway's birthplace and meets his son Patrick who edited the manuscript, which had been lying in a locked vault since Hemingway's death in 1961.
