For Farmers Only: Anthony Hurd

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

The subject of Anthony Hurd's talk today is 'The Poultry Industry'. He runs about 2,000 head of poultry on his own farm, and will deal with the progress which this side of farming has made since the war. He will discuss the present position of poultry farmers and the prospects for the industry.
This talk has a topical interest, for one of the most famous poultry shows held in this country opens tomorrow at the Crystal Palace and will remain open on Wednesday and Thursday. A cockerel winning a cup at the Palace has the prestige of a Derby winner, and a prize-winning pullet the eclat of a winner of the Oaks. Farmers' children will be interested to know that an outside broadcast of this great show at the Crystal Palace will be given in the London Children's Hour tomorrow - Regional programme, 5.15.
