Twenty-five young opera and lieder singers from around the world gather at St David's Hall to compete in this year's event.

Tonight's contestants vying for a place in next Saturday's final are Mariselle Martinez, Anja Harteros, Maruisz Kwiecien, Tigran Martirosian and Sam McElroy. They are accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, conducted by Carlo Rizzi. Presented by Petroc Trelawny and Gwenan Edwards.
