Sky-dive to Autana

on BBC One London

A natural history adventure
Autana: a sandstone pinnacle projecting nearly a mile out of remote jungle in Venezuela. Its table-top summit has been isolated for thousands of years, with unique animals and plants 'suspended in time'.
The Challenge: to reach the summit by parachute, then abseil down the cliffs to huge caves - the ancient pathway of a long-forgotten underground river.
The Team: international, including two world champion sky-divers, a parachute designer, natural history film-makers, climbers, and a paramedic. For those with little parachuting experience, it meant being strapped to others as human cargo for the jump. Not everything went according to plan ... Narrator Ian Holm
