The world that seems the most resolutely closed to women is the world of God: the prejudice against women ministers and preachers is ancient. The Methodists have gone further than anyone else in admitting them to the ministry. They have women lay preachers.
Pauline Webb, one-time Vice-President of the Methodist Conference, is one of them. She is the subject of tonight's film.
