Claude Monet
An imaginary autobiography written and produced by JOHN READ
This programme was nominated as one of the best specialised programmes of the year by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. In it Michael Hordern speaks the imagined thoughts of Monet, based on a close study of his actual statements. The paintings are brought to life by comparison with the actual places where they were done and Monet's studies, his garden and his famous lily pond are shown much as they were when he was still alive.
Stunning has to be the adjective for this beautifully organised tribute.
