The Light of Experience Revisited

on BBC Two England

Bel Mooney invites five people who first told their story some years ago in The Light of Experience to return to the studio and tell her how they have coped with life since then.
Ann Lovell 's first child Simon was autistic. She and her husband learned to accept this, had another child and adopted a third. Then, when Simon was 11, his father left. Alone, Ann struggled to survive, helped by friends and a newly-found Christian faith. But in the years since then she found she needed help from other sources too as the strain of her daughter's illness, her own sense of inadequacy and rejection took its toll upon her.
