Emilia arrives accompanied by her mother, and when she looks set to take over the lead roles, the fierce rivalry between the two older women is re-ignited. This romantic and moving story is told against a backdrop of the dramatic world of ballet - including extracts from such classics as 'Swan Lake' and 'Le Corsaire' - and features the screen d6but of famous Russian dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.
