The story of the war against Japan.
From mid-1944 onwards, Allied air attacks on Japan became more serious in purpose. Instead of token raids to boost morale at home, they were now serious attempts to blast Japan into defeat. The climax came twelve months later, when the B.29 Enola Gay took off from the Marianas on the most momentous bombing-run of the war.
