The Great Plains Massacre
The Great Plains of North America once swarmed with wild game. Herds of bison, tens of millions of them, provided food, clothing and shelter for the Indian tribes. Then, in the space of one lifetime, the bison were virtually exterminated.
How did it happen? This true story of the American West tells how the natural instincts of the bison betrayed them to the hunters' guns, how the Indian culture crumbled as the herds were slaughtered - and how a few enthusiasts rescued the bison from extinction. Narrator PATRICKSTEWART
