F. J. Findon has a long record of broadcasts from Shelsley Walsh ; both he and Alan Hess are well-known motoring journalists. Hess won the Brooklands Relay Race in 1933, was a member of the winning team in the 1935 Brooklands 500-mile relay race, and finished fourth in the recent twelve-hours race at Donington Park.
The record for the Shelsley Walsh climb, which has two tricky hairpin bends at steep gradients in its 1,000 yards, is held by Raymond Mays.
