When Chang Miao-yu comes back to his native village after military service, he finds that drought has become a serious problem. Three different nationalities live on the banks of the river and class enemy Chuan Chan-shan is adept at preventing them from uniting to solve the problem. Chang Miao-yu decides to make a daring potholing expedition to locate an underground river.
