Nebraska, 1968: small-town sheriff Joe Roberts is a hard-working family man, once inseparable from his hell-raising brother Frank, an enlisted soldier. Now Frank is home from the Vietnam war, a troubled man with a prison record and a young girlfriend in tow. To Joe, the reunion is a celebration and a chance forthe brothers to get to know each other again. But Frank's refusal to take responsibility for his life threatens to separate the brothers for good.
