The Church is the only major institution not bound by the Sex Discrimination Act. But now, with Anglican women being ordained in Canada and the US, the Church of England is under increasing pressure to open its doors to women priests. Mavis Nicholson reports on the women who want to be vicars and on the people who fear that this break with tradition will split the Church in two.
