Wheelchair-bound 15-year-old Krystie faces a major operation to stop the curvature of her spine caused by Friederich's ataxia, but as she is a Jehovah's witness it is against her religious beliefs to receive blood, even in a potentially life-threatening situation. As doctors fear loss of blood could mean that Krystie will not survive the operation, her family are forced to confront their beliefs.
