How strong must a wall be? This Is one of the problems facing scientists at the Building Research Station, Watford. In addition to a demonstration of how these scientists test walls, this programme includes other film sequences showing timber joists and concrete beams being subjected to severe loads. Dr. B. Wheeler Robinson of the National Physical Laboratory invites viewers into one of the giant echo rooms to see, and hear, how materials are tested for sound absorption.
