At the ringside Harry Carpenter
The sixties through British eyes would at first appear to belong to two men: Henry Cooper, our champion through the decade, and Cassius Clay. But other names come to mind: Terry Downes, Dave Charnley, Brian Curvis, Howard Winstone. In 10 years British boxers fought for world titles at every principal weight. British boxing reached a very high standard indeed in the sixties.
Tonight's bill: Brown v Charnley, Downes v Pastrano, Curvis v Griffith, Winstone v Saldivar, Clay v Liston
