Hans and Lotte say goodbye to the sharks and groupers on a farewell dive in the Indian Ocean steaming towards Malaya, they visit a fish trap in the open sea, then enjoy a taste of exotic civilisation in Penang, before going on south-east to the uninhabited Sebilan Islands, Where the murky sea teems with diatoms microscopic plants in fantastic shapes.
