Writer and broadcaster Rosie Boycott makes the case for choosing Diana, Princess of Wales, as the greatest Briton of all time. Hers was a story of innocence lost, of the fairytale princess who won the hearts of the nation but who failed to triumph over adversity, despite her mass appeal. Boycott argues, however, that it is precisely because of her struggle and tribulations that Diana became a truly great Briton.
Richard Holmes proposes Cromwell on Friday at 9pm.
