Following the success of his first film "Bronco Bullfrog", which dealt with the problems of London's young East-enders, Barney Platts-Mills turned to the young middle-class in this his second film, a deceptively simple love story.
Ann Halpern, a secretary in a literary agency, meets Peter Morissey, an aspiring young author, and invites him to her family home in Esher. Peter takes a dislike to her conventional, middle-class parents, and later Ann leaves home to live with him. But the social pressures on both of them are great and compromise is often the easy way out...
