World Snooker

on BBC Two England

Continuing live coverage of the concluding frames of the quarter-final matches from the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
Wales took on Scotland at this stage last year, as Matthew Stevens met John Higgins. Level at 4-4 following the opening session, the match was dominated in the second period by Stevens, who made several big breaks. The final session was over quickly, the Welshman booking himself a place in the semi-final against eventual champion Peter Ebdon. Meanwhile, Ronnie O'Sullivan - this year's favourite for the title - looked much less comfortable as he faced fellow Englishman Stephen Lee. Following a tense match in which both players were guilty of errors, O'Sullivan emerged the victor, setting up something of a grudge match with Stephen Hendry.
Introduced by Hazel Irvine and former champions
Steve Davis and John Parrott. With commentary from Clive Everton, Dennis Taylor , John Virgo , Willie Thorne ,
Ray Edmonds and Terry Griffiths.
