"Brick" Brickley commands a squadron of US motortorpedo boats. Its task is to carry urgent messages between garrisons, but officer Ryan is convinced the unit should play a bigger role. When a Japanese warship is spotted in the vicinity, "Brick" is determined to prove the squadron's worth.
