Yasuda, first Eastern golfer to play in a US v World series, helped Japan to come second in the 1969 World Cup. He meets the 15-stone Floyd, a Ryder Cup player and former US PGA Champion, on a course which, with its lake and mountain background, is one of the most picturesque in the world.

Prize-money: $4,000 to the winner $2,000 to the loser
