To supplement his income as an assistant cameraman in a film studio, Mark Lewis takes 'girlie' photographs for a local shop. Gradually his disturbed psyche becomes obsessed by the lust to murder. Not content with killing, he decides that he wants to photograph the victims in their death throes.

Sammy Rice , a research specialist, is called in to help unravel the workings of the device. Although a brilliant scientist, he is an intense man driven to alcohol to escape physical pain and his feelings of inadequacy.
