A three-part series in which Sir Bernard Ingham, former press secretary to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, traces the route of the famous protest and considers how Britain has changed during the intervening decades.Â

Sixty years after the march from the south bank of the Tyne to the Houses of Parliament, Bernard Ingham visits Jarrow. He talks to Lord Hailsham, who recalls his days as a Conservative minister, Peter Flannery, writer of the BBC2 drama Our Friends in the North, and Sir John Hall, businessman and chairman of Newcastle United FC.
