Bubble Trouble: Changing the Japanese Way

Continuing the story of the speculative fever that gripped Japan in the eighties, and the crippling crash that followed.

The nineties saw the Japanese idea of a "job for life" become unsustainable. With the collapse of a system that promised security and a sense of identity, distress grew to the point that, in an event that shocked the nation, one middle-aged manager ritually disembowelled himself in the office of his boss.
