Douamenez 86
This spectacular international festival of traditional sailing boats was held in Douarnenez in Brittany last August. It was attended by boats from all over Europe - oyster smacks, hookers, skiffs, dories, cutters - all with the rig and trim of their working days.
For three days, it was sailing all day and celebration and music all night. The film follows the fortunes in the festival of Dave Wharton from Whitby and his coble
Gratitude, a traditional small working boat from Yorkshire.
