In the last In Tune of 2000 Sean Rafferty celebrates a year of live performance with some of the musical highlights from the last twelve months. And Rob Cowan joins Sean in the studio with his selection of recent classical CDs to give as Christmas presents. Music in the programme includes Martinu's Merry Christmas 1941 played by the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra conducted by Christopher Hogwood; at 5.45 Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in E, RV270, (II riposo peril Natale) performed by Europa Galante directed by Fabio Biondi (violin); and at 6.00 Grieg's Lyric Pieces (excerpts) played by Emil Gilels (piano).
