8.35 Twenty Minutes: WH Davies -the Tramp Poet WH Davies (1871-1940) captured the public's imagination in his Autobiography of Super-Tramp, which described his experiences living as a hobo travelling in America. In his poetry he saw nature as a model for human behaviour and as a source of freedom beyond the constraints of daily life. Davies's biographer Lawrence Normand describes his extraordinary life.
