The Six Proud Walkers: 4: The Lily-white Boys

on BBC Television

View in Radio Times

A television play in six episodes by Donald Wilson.
[Starring] Anne Crawford, Andrew Osborn and Walter Fitzgerald

The £15,000 necklace stolen from Foucquier's by Joey Walker's gang found its way by mistake into the hands of actress Polly Arden, when Willie Walker carrying the jewels was knocked down by a car at the entrance to the flat Polly shares with her friend, Martha. Thinking it to be a paste necklace meant for her TV appearance that night, Polly wore it for a panel game; Joey happened to be looking in and recognised it. He hurried to the studio in time to see Polly leave with an old acquaintance, Inspector Roger Stanton, who dropped her at her flat. Meantime Martha had discovered that Polly had worn the wrong necklace. Martha went out later, leaving Polly alone to look after Willie, who had lost his memory. Polly fell asleep, and woke to find Joey Walker sitting opposite her.
