The Call of Kakadu
The size of Wales and situated in northern Australia, Kakadu National Park is a wilderness brimmingwith wildlife, including magpie geese, cockatoos, giant saltwater crocodiles, wallabies, dingoes, serpents, diminutive dragons and highly vocal blue-winged kookaburras, the largest of the kingfishers. Filmed at one of Kakadu's busy billabongs, this programme is the culmination of seven years' work by British zoologist David Curl and follows the fortunes and setbacks of a pair of kookaburras over the course of a year as they try to raise theirfamily and defend theirterritory.
