Relentlessly pursued by the police, he is helped to safety across the border - only to turn back to administer the last rites to a dying criminal, and to find himself betrayed.
Filmed by Ford in Mexico, this adaptation of Graham Greene 's powerful novel is remarkable for its majestic photographic style.
