The past and present of a romantic and useful team
A film in colour directed and written by Robin Crichton
Commentary spoken by Leonard Maguire
An old man looks back on a lifetime of working with horses and recalls the heyday of horse-drawn transport. Nowadays there are not many horse-drawn vehicles left, but even so, one large city store still uses them for deliveries. This particular store has been appointed to maintain the Queen's carriages and tonight's film shows Her Majesty visiting the store's workshops to see the various craftsmen at work. These skilled men not only work on ceremonial coaches but also on modern vehicles-from small cars to ten-ton lorries.
