What happens when a prisoner comes out of gaol? How do people behave to him? How does he get a job? How does he himself feel?

Life inside prisons always excites curiosity, and a great many films and plays have been written about it. Much rarer is the work, like tonight's documentary, which deals with life 'outside' - in the world to which a discharged prisoner returns when he has served his sentence. You will follow the adventures of John Morris, who had just done six months for his first offence - larceny - as he struggles to resume normal life, to get back into his old trade... even just to go straight.
