Night Waves

on BBC Radio 3

Patrick Wright profiles one of the most ambitious writers in contemporary Europe - Dutch novelist, essayist and poet Harry Mulisch. His novel The Assault became an international success and was made into an Oscar-winning film. This month sees the British publication of The Discovery of Heaven, a story which voyages through many of the historical and philosophical trends of the 20th century. And there's a first-night review of Lulu, the world premiere at Harrogate Theatre of Angela Carter 's highly personal interpretation of Wedekind's tale.
