A programme which examines how much and how well British sports have inspired our writers and artists over the centuries. With specialist comments from television and newspaper experts Henry Longhurst, Dorian Williams, John Arlott, John Hislop, Brian Glanville and the art historian Basil Taylor
Shortly before his tragically early death, Basil Taylor visited an exhibition of British Sporting Painting at the Hayward Gallery. We combined his expert comments with the more personal opinions of sporting experts who assessed whether their particular game or sport - golf, hunting, cricket, racing or football - has been justly reflected in artistic terms.
