Alexander Kok recalls his time as the youngest member of the Philharmonia and playing in the orchestra's first concert in the Kingsway Hall in 1945 under Sir Thomas Beecham. Kok tells how he was enrolled in the orchestra after a chance meeting with Walter Legge , and he remembers eminent colleagues such as the clarinettist Reginald Kell and the trumpeter Harold Jackson.
