The Health Education
Council reports that during last year's national 'No
Smoking Day' more than a million smokers succeeded in giving up smoking for the whole day, and that an estimated 20 million fewer cigarettes were smoked. This week marks another 'No Smoking Day' when the overall aim will be not only to persuade people to stop smoking for 24 hours, but to give it up altogether.
