Filipinas - the Women of the Philippines
Philippine men like to think of themselves as macho. But a typical Filipino is raised by a strong mother before his wife treats him as a child and runs his business. When he tries to escape he marries a younger woman who has more energy than he does. Finally, exhausted, he retires - to live with his daughter. From the president to the bus driver, Philippine society is dominated by women. In the last programme in the series, Jack Pizzey meets six Filipinas, including a top executive running a multinational, a nun campaigning for workers' rights, and a prostitute.
