Who Runs Europe?: Men at Arms

on BBC Two England

At the French Military Academy of St. Cyr the young officers kneel in reverence when they sing the songs of Napoleon. It is a part of the power and mystique of the French Army. In Germany too the Army was once a backbone of the State, arbiter of governments.
What influence do these armies have now inside Europe? The Europe we hope to join.
Tonight's report comes from St. Cyr and a military school for senior officers in West Germany.
